Zipline Canopy Tours – Ziplining in the Smokies

The Most Scenic, Highest and Longest Zip Lines

When it comes to adventures in the Smokies, canopy tours are on the top of the list.  And believe us when we tell you, your list of zip line attraction choices is long one.

Before you move to choosing which canopy tour you’d like to take, we at Carr’s Cottages have done a little homework to cover the basics that will apply to most all the zipline companies in our area.

Zipline Canopy Tours in the Smokies

Most Open Year Round!

The first thing you need to know is you’re going to have some major fun!  You’ll want to wear comfortable, close-toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.  The zipline attraction will provide necessary safety equipment including helmets, gloves and harnesses.  Loose hair should be restrained, and backpacks, fanny packs, chewing gum and hard candy are not allowed.  Some companies will allow cameras as long as they are strapped to your body.

Age and weight limits will vary by attraction.  Most require a minimum age of 8 years old and weights between 90-250 lbs.  These limits do vary so be sure to confirm these ahead of time.

All participants should be of good physical condition, able to follow instructions, climb stairs and use brake handles, and not have injuries to back, legs or knees.  Everyone will be required to sign a Waiver, and parents will have to sign for and accompany children under the age of 18.  Pregnant women and any one under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to ride.

Zipline tours generally operate 7 days a week in season, and tours take place rain or shine.  Tour operators may cancel during treacherous weather that includes high winds or lightning, and generally will provide a return voucher or reschedule your tour.  Cancellation policies very greatly and not all companies provide refunds or attempt to reschedule for missed reservations.
